Field Trip- Field trip permission slips (2) and an envelope will go home in your child's folder today. We will be having an in-house field trip next Wednesday, October 10th and we will be going to the Art Barn on Monday, November 12th. Since the field trips are so close together we will be collecting the total amount for both trip in the envelope provided. The total for both trips will be $20. Please have everything turned in by Monday, October 8th.
Braves Spirit Day- This Thursday, October 4th will be a Braves SPIRIT DAY!!!! Teasley would like to show our support for the Braves first playoff game. Students may come to school in their braves t-shirts or jerseys. If you do not have a Braves T-shirt or jersey you can wear red, white and/or blue!! Please wear uniform bottoms on this day.
Career Day - We’re looking for energetic presenters from a broad range of careers. If you or someone you know will be able to join us on Career Day, please fill out the form that was sent home and return it to school OR email the information to us at the email addresses below by October 5, 2018. Conference Week: a sign up genius will be emailed to you on Monday between 2:45-3:00. I have offered a variety of times, but please let me know if you experience difficulty signing up for a time that works for you.

Thanksgiving Feast: I know this is not for a while but I wanted you to get it on your calendar. Kindergarten will enjoy their Thanksgiving Feast at lunch on Tuesday 11/13- time to be announced: parents are invited to attend.
This week we are learning: IB Unit- How the World Works: animal movement and animal families
Read Aloud:Are You My Mother?, Follow Me! Animal Parents and Babies, Move!, Hop,Bunny!
We will be looking for details in our read -alouds to support the main ideas : animal parents and babies are similar, and animals move. We will also compare and sort animals based on physical characteristics and movement.
Phonics: reviewing all letters and sounds, blending cvc words (ie: sit: /s/ /i/ /t/)
Sight words do, you, an, can– if your child already recognizes these sight words ask them to practice writing them in sentences using their phonetic spelling, for ex: We r (are) on the bot (boat).
Drawing, labeling, stretching out words to sound them out.
Narrative writing using details
Count to 100, counting on from a given number to another number, numbers “before” and “after” a given number
Inquiry into 3D shapes: naming common 3D shapes: cone cylinder, sphere, cube. Recognizing the 2D shapes that make up their faces.
Word problem Friday: learning strategies to solve word problems that are read by the teacher
