Class Notes:
Dear Families, We are learning about family traditions and customs but we need your help! If you would like your child to participate, please choose one of the below options to exhibit your favorite family celebration (holiday, birthday, summer vacation, etc-something you do every year). Please send these to school Thursday or Friday this week on November 29th and 30th. Options are below: -Draw a picture of you and your family during your celebration. -Bring in a picture from your favorite celebration with your family. -Bring in a memorable item that is used in your family’s celebration. -Make a poster sharing about your family celebration: pictures etc. -Bring in family game you play during your favorite celebration. -Bring in a change of clothes to show us how you dress for your family celebration. -Bring in a favorite gift from a previous family celebration. -Be the teacher! Teach us about your favorite celebration. -Choice project. If you have an idea or inspiration on how to present your family celebration, bring in whatever you choose! IB Unit- Where We are In Place and Time: Past and Present Read Aloud: We will be reading a variety of books that will help us compare how we live now with how people lived in the past, particularly schools then and now. We will also be learning about why we celebrate Veterans Day. Your children will see some “artifacts” from the past on Monday; ask them about them! (think typewriter, original cell phone, rotary dial phone…) Phonics: reviewing digraphs /sh/ and /ch/ and introducing /th/, practice blending words using these. On Wednesday I will be sending home sight word lists to students who still need to practice words from the A and B list. If you don't get a list sent home then your student knows most of these words so keep up the hard work! Writing:
